For users of manual wheelchairs, the AT
2 offers the possibility of new horizons in mobility. Developed out of a previous project focused on allowing people in wheelchair to traverse snow, the AT
2 is a radical departure in wheelchair development. Most daily use wheelchairs are simply not designed for the real world. AT
2 has been designed to be a wheelchair for a less ideal world, one with potholes, tree roots, sand and cracked walkways.
Initially developed while the designers were still in college and exhibited at the Boston Museum of Science, the AT
2 is an ongoing project at Brigantian Designs. Having been radically revised in the past several years, it is our hope that a production ready model of the AT
2 will be ready within two to three years.
