These are some of the services we offer within the field of Adaptive and Assistive design:
Equipment Modification, Repair, and Maintenance:
Many if not most forms of adaptive equipment are essential to the everyday lives of their users. Because everyone is different it is not unusual to need a vital piece of assistive technology modified to meet an individual's specific needs. Nowhere is this truer than with children, whose changing bodies and needs may mean that a device that was perfect yesterday might need some changes today. Because of the nature of assistive and adaptive devices, it is inevitable that these devices take a great deal of wear. Routine maintenance can prolong the usable life of many essential pieces of equipment. We offer maintenance and repair on many forms of adaptive and assistive devices.
Custom Equipment Design and Manufacture:
Everybody is different. While this is a wonderful thing in terms of making the world a better place, it can also make it difficult to mass-produce adaptive equipment to meet everyone's needs. Clients often find that there is nothing commercially available which adequately addresses their specific requirements. In these instances it is often more practical to start from scratch than to modify existing equipment or devices. We will work with clients, caregivers, and clinical specialists such as physical and occupational therapists to produce a device that is functional, durable, and wherever possible, meets our clients’ aesthetic desires.
Accessibility Consulting:
Brigantian Designs offers consulting for individuals or businesses looking to make their homes, offices, schools, or other environments more accessible. We can help develop plans to make your facility more welcoming while still respecting your financial bottom line.
